The story behind Inkally

I'm Jordan, an IT pro for years now, lifelong geek. I've worked on plenty of projects in my career, but something was always missing: the urge to build something that's mine, something genuinely useful to real people, not just another feature in a corporate roadmap.

In 2025, I decided to go solo. Not to join the AI tools fad or build another Notion clone, but to find the corners of the market nobody covers properly. French SMBs were an obvious starting point: everyone sells us poorly translated US SaaS, even though we have our own rules, our own vocabulary, our own daily reality.

Digging deeper, I stumbled on the tattoo world. A niche I didn't know, but whose needs jumped out at me: most tattoo artists and piercers work SOLO, and spend ridiculous amounts of time on admin instead of doing art. Excel, Calendly, Insta DMs at 11pm to schedule a deposit, ARS inspections, REACH updates, invoices to formalize… a passion job turning into an admin nightmare.

I talked to tattoo artists, read forums, looked at existing tools. Conclusion: either too expensive and too generic (Treatwell), or English-speaking and non-compliant with our rules (Porter, TattooPro), or a hand-rolled Excel that nobody really nailed. There was clearly room for someone willing to take the time to do it right.

So that's what I'm building now. In French, in France, with your trade vocabulary respected, ARS/REACH-compliant, and with a simple goal: that you spend more time on the needle and less on admin. No silly promises, no useless features. Just an honest tool that does the job.
